Empowering Community Through Fantasy Football

How many of you play fantasy football?

I’ve been playing since I got out of college, and love it. In fact, most of my friends play it, and a lot of the men at my church are fantasy sports fanatics.

Churches are trying to find new and creative ways to reach men.  This growing fantasy sports phenomenon could be one way of going about this.

What if next August you equip the men at your church with the tools to start a fantasy football league, and provide a “draft party kit?”  All of this to encourage community inside of their circles of influence, and provide a stepping stone to something greater.

In addition, it would be great to plan a fellowship event and arrange for one or multiple former football pros to take part.  You could even get  a fantasy sports expert to talk about how to have a winning team — who to pick, sleepers, etc.

What do you think?  Is this something to flesh out a little more, and see if anything sticks?
