After months of quietly working on things behind the scenes, I’m excited today to finally unveil the first product developed under a new Media Salt initiative. Frustrated by many of the solutions out there, Cleve and I have always discussed making our own (affordable) tools that would help the Church leverage technology for real ministry results. Without further ado, I’m thrilled to unveil our first step into the marketplace with The Prayer Engine. Hit the jump to see what we’ve cooked up!
The Prayer Engine is an extremely customizable web-based Prayer Wall and moderation system that’s designed to serve as the backbone of your prayer ministry. Its powerful Prayer Wall integrates directly with your website, serving as the central location for your audience to view and share prayer requests.
Prayer requests are moderated and managed through a sleek administrative portal that you can access from anywhere you have an internet connection. With one click, prayer requests are updated on your Prayer Wall, Twitter Prayer Chain, RSS Feed and even pushed out to an included Mobile Web App! Watch the demo above for a brief walkthrough, or check out the full list of features here.
The email prayer chains that most of us depend on now are clunky, hard to moderate and expensive to maintain. At only $99 for a licensed copy (one-time purchase, no monthly fees), we believe The Prayer Engine is the cheapest, most effective way for your ministry to share prayer requests online. It’s an instant download, and only takes about five minutes to install on your server.
Visit theprayerengine.com to take a peek at all The Prayer Engine has to offer. We hope The Prayer Engine will be a valuable asset to your ministry, and are looking forward to unveiling more solutions that are in development in the Media Salt labs. Are you looking for a specific tool to help your ministry? Let us know in the comments below… it may become our next project!
Oh sweet! Looks like a good deal. Thanks guys!
This looks very promising. Thanks for creating this tool. I’m really excited about seeing church websites become more interactive, and this is a huge step in the right direction.
Any suggestions on how to implement this for people who use a web solution like Clover? This looks awesome, but we don’t have a server and Clover is limited in certain abilities.
Anthony:
The Prayer Engine does require a server, but it doesn’t have to be anything fancy. An entry-level plan with a company like Dreamhost is dirt cheap and will do the trick just fine. If your Clover site now is http://www.yoursite.com, you could set up your copy of The Prayer Engine at prayer.yoursite.com.
(As a side note, it’s great to have some server hosting anyway to host unlimited WordPress blogs, micro sites and other projects. Companies like Dreamhost provide a library of free “one-click installs” that have proven to be extremely valuable for projects at our church.)
Any chance of making this a WordPress plugin someday?
Really nice work. I know that if our church ever wanted to implement anything like this, $99 is a steal.
Nice work.
Adam and Andy:
Thanks guys!
Ben:
A WordPress plugin isn’t currently in the works, but that’s a great idea.
